My Cha Pa Lang* day at Bugis!

I made a boo boo and left my handphone at Hammy’s place last night. And I totally didn’t realize it until his sister called to tell us, and by then we were already at my house’s carpark.

Zzzz…

.

.

Felt so guilty cuz he wanted to drive home and back again to pass it to me, which is crazy. Firstly, all that petrol used to drive to and fro is not cheap and secondly, driving for 1.5 hours straight is so tiring!

.

.

So we switched phones for a night, and I went down to his school to switch back the next day. We were not supposed to meet the next day cuz I was gonna spend the day with my parents! Oh well.

I was very afraid that someone would call him while I was having his phone. Lucky only his cousin called in the morning and since I know him, I answered the call. It was kinda awkward trying to explain the situation though, I think I sounded like we switched phones for fun.

.

Anyway, I was supposed to be early to be in time for Hammy’s break during his 3 hour lesson, but instead was super late again and missed it. So I had to hang around Bugis and wait till his lesson ended.

Went to Ice Togo…

Waffle =)

Guess what flavour?? You’ll never get it right! :P

.

.

Looks kinda grotesque right? Haha it’s Okonomiyaki waffle.

They stuffed seaweed chicken inside, I don’t know why, cuz the normal Okonomiyaki also don’t have seaweed chicken. :/ Anyway the seaweed chicken was horrible, but I liked the sauce and mayo. Hahah so fattening.

.

.

Shhh! Don’t tell anyone I sneaked something in! Haha!

This is their gigantic wallpaper on the counter.

Spot the mistake?? But sorry, no points for doing so. ;P

After eating the waffle, I walked to Hammy’s school and saw this building along Prinsep Link.

Stood in that spot for quite a long while, feeling tempted to go across the road to explore. I think it houses a furniture exhibition if I’m not wrong.

Then popped in an art gallery for this:

Haha whiled my time away waiting for Hammy to be done with lesson. Lucky I had his phone with me and I could play World of Goo.

Then we went to have real food at Fortune Centre, when the waffle I had earlier on hasn’t even settled down in my tummy.

But I have to admit, this vegetarian stall is good!

Monkey mushroom hotpot brown rice

Haha I can tell you truthfully, just based on the name of this dish, I wouldn’t dare to try it at all. In my mind, it kinda linked to monkey brains or something yucky. Haha but Hammy said this is very good and I have to agree with him after eating it. The sauce is savoury, like normal ‘lor zup’. The brown rice is not sticky or mushy at all, and kinda tastes like normal rice, but with all the goodness. :)

Sweet and sour pork ribs  and brown rice

Oh this is heavenly!! The sweet and sour sauce is power! Of course the ‘pork ribs’ aren’t real, but I’d say normal pork ribs aren’t as  tasty as this (personal opinion). The first time we ate this, we wondered aloud whether the ‘bone’ can be eaten, since every part is technically supposed to be vegetarian, obviously it can’t be a real bone right? We poked at it with a fork suspiciously cuz it was hard. An aunty overheard, and enlightened us that the bone is actually made of lotus root. How ingenious! Then we polished off the ‘bone’ too. Hahaha

Felt so healthy eating vegetarian for a change :)

But felt unhealthy for what I had for dinner with my family, which is too long to continue here.
