Tom’s and comfort junk.

Went back to Tom’s Palette for another serving of yummy ice cream! =)

Good thing that it was Sunday and there was no ERP, Hammy says it’s ‘free for all to jam’ day. But we were just going to Bugis area so there was not much of a jam.

.

.

We were stunned when we reached Shaw Towers, cuz most of the eateries were closed! I’d wanted to try Ah Loy Thai food, but to our dismay it was not open. But THANK GOODNESS Tom’s Palette was open, if not our special trip would have been wasted. T.T

.

.

Then we walked around literally looking for a place to have our lunch, and no choice, had to eat oily Nasi Lemak at Qi Ji. Lol.. Went so far just to eat at Qi Ji.

.

.

Hammy’s first time at the creamery, so of course he has to try Granny’s Favourite. It seems like it’s not only her favourite, but everyone else’s. But I think it’s a bit heaty for me, it’s something along the line of licking Horlick’s powder or Milo powder, letting it dissolve on your tongue, and being prepared to get sore throat. Haha

But okay la, once in a while it’s still nice :)

.

Then we tried a new flavour (for me), Milk Ice cream. Yep that’s the name of the flavour, which explains it all. Oh that was so yummy! Light, and sweet. Not like vanilla though.

.

.

Saw this article plastered on their table. They have those custom-made stickers that cover the entire tabletop, displaying articles like this one, and those messages that customers have written for them.

.

Haha I like that reply that answers ”Who’s Tom?”.

”Tom’s not boss. The shop’s named after the owner’s cynical friend who didn’t think the business would succeed.” Lol

.

.

More media coverage neatly framed up on their wall!

.

.

Hammy liked their ice cream so much that we ordered a take-away of Milk Ice cream =) OH OH I need to mention this! NTU/NUS students get 10% discount! I only found out when I walked to their counter. Unfortunately not before we bought our cup. Used my student card to get discount on the take-away though! :)

They should’ve mentioned it!! And the ice cream could have been $4.50 instead of $5.

I’m not sure what other institutions are entitled to discount, there was quite a long list though. Must check the notice at the counter table ok!

Read about my previous trip here.

I woke up at only 1pm today and felt so tired to go find Hammy, so I stayed at home. Not only did I feel tired, I also felt down for no reason. Must be pms-ing…

.

.

Decided to go to the provision store because I realized that there was nothing to eat at home AT ALL. Well, at least nothing instant that I could just cook and eat (I meant Maggie mee).

.

.

TaDah! Came back with a lot of comfort food. Food that will make me happy, actually not the instant porridge, that’s to put at Hammy’s place so we can have it when we’re hungry.

Myojo Thai Tom Yum, Banana Nut Crunch, Animal biscuits, and those pretzel sticks! =))

.

.

ALL are my love, especially the orange biscuit sticks and the animal biscuits. So nostalgic!!

Salted animal biscuits

.

.

I used to have this whenever I had extra money leftover in primary school! They were my favourite treat. I can’t believe they earned themselves the pyramid for healthier choice now, cuz the biscuits are so salty lol..

This must be the only thing that has withstood the evil of inflation. Seriously, back in primary school, one small packet costs 20 cents. And now, 10 packets costs $2. Which means, one packet is still $0.20!!!! HAHA so happy to have made this discovery. Who else loves this like me??

.

.

Spent $13.60 in total for all these junk; everything’s unhealthy except the Banana Nut Crunch. But I’m allowed to snack and binge. Anything to cheer myself up a bit.
