We were at Nex again! This time to have a go at Grandma’s Restaurant. I’d snapped up the group deal coupon that featured its Signature Nasi Lemak at $8.80 instead of $17.30. It’s almost crazy that a Nasi Lemak can go up to $17, but even an atas Prawn noodle can be priced at $20 in hotel restaurants, what’s not to be expected? Hammy was pretty hesitant and sceptical about it at first, but after I told him repeatedly that it was not bad and worth a try (I had it before with my mother), he gave in.
Oh, this was actually our Valentine’s lunch! Haha the deal voucher included a Grass Jelly drink and Chendol dessert (but we’re not a big fan of Chendol).
The Signature Nasi Lemak comes with curry chicken, sambal anchovies, sambal onions and egg, and achar.
The curry chicken was so heavenly that we requested for a bowl of its curry and they really gave it to us for free! :D
Overall experience was enjoyable, except that service was a bit slow. The Nasi Lemak is definitely worth a try if you want to have something more than just coconut rice with deep fried chicken wing, fish and egg, hotdog, fishcake whatever. It will not disappoint.
They have a wide variety of meats, vegetables and side dishes on their menu as well that look really delicious, but price wise, a little steep I feel.
