Went on a solo adventure (solo ‘venture as we call it) to Something Old, Something New‘s outlets in Simei and Bedok. If you didn’t know, SOSN is a social enterprise that provides employment opportunities for individuals with psychiatric disabilities. The proceeds from the sale of preloved items then go back to the Care Centre at Simei to support psychiatric rehabilitation of patients. I have a thing with thrift stores (love Salvation Army!) and have been wanting to check SOSN out.
Was greeted with the same musky smell as with most thrift stores. Shelves upon shelves are stacked with books, household items, CDs. There were also clothing and bags going at $2 (saw a pretty cheongsam at $5!). Nothing really caught my fancy except for this cute princess gown. But I didn’t buy it la.. Haha, ah well, I’ll have better luck next time! :)
By the way, really gotta thank Streetdirectory app for bringing me to places I’ve never been before. With the Streetdirectory app, I get accurate directions on how to get to my destination. It is super useful when I have to zip around with public transport. The MRT and bus routes are updated – unlike Google Maps, or worse, the Apple Map – and it suggests the best route out of a few. This is not an ad, but just wanna recommend something good! The next best thing would be if I’m able to plan multiple routes for the whole day. <— *Shoutout! Streetdirectory are you listening?? Haha *
