Maybelline HyperSharp Wing Eye Liner Review | Singapore Beauty Blog

There’s a newcomer in the Maybelline New York HyperSharp eyeliner series! Following the 0.01 mm and 0.05 mm HyperSharp Liners, the NEW HyperSharp Wing has a duo-thickness brush that lets you to go crazy with that flick!

With the choice of a more natural and sweet look with thin strokes, or edgier look with thick strokes, the HyperSharp Wing is truly versatile. The 100% water-proof liner lasts for 24 hours without smudging and disappearing. It also has high colour intensity pigments so it stays black throughout. I have encountered eye liners that sort of turned grey after a day, and that is just awful!

Review of the Maybelline HyperSharp Wing

Easy to control: 8/10

Indeed, the 0.01 mm side of the brush is so fine that I did not have to worry about making mistakes.  As I have hooded eyelids, sometimes I like to reach in between my lashes and apply liner on my lash line/roots to make my lashes appear thicker. The brush is smooth and ‘ink’ aplenty, which makes application a breeze.

Using the duo-thickness brush takes a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of which side you’re drawing on, the different brush sizes do help a lot! For example, just a few strokes is needed to fill in the wing when using the thick 2 mm side. It minimises the chance of mistakes and also speeds up the time needed to draw a perfect wing.

Water-proof, smudge-proof: 9/10

Tried and tested. Some liners take so long to dry that I even stand in front of a fan to speed up the drying process so I don’t smudge the liner onto my lids. With the HyperSharp Wing, it did not smudge even when I accidentally blinked while applying. This is a plus point that I like! I also tried to wash the liner away with soap, and it didn’t even budge. But of course gentle eye make up remover like the Maybelline Eye and Lip Makeup Remover does the trick!

Its smudge-proof ability is perfect! Nothing is worse than having panda eyes during mid-day under the sweltering sun.

Price Point: 5.5/10

A little steep, I feel. Maybelline HyperSharp Wing retails for #23.90 at Watsons, Guardian, SaSa, and major departmental stores. But I actually got it at a steal at 20% off at $19.10 during a sale at the Watsons in Novena Square! Woohoo, so I’m happy. :)
