It’s time to feast your eyes on some yummy, delectable sweet treats as we took so many photos for this particular media event at La Cure Gourmande! It’s been awhile since I blogged about food, but this was too good to miss out on; especially when I was allowed to invite friends along! I’d asked Hammy, Ben and Elizabeth to join me because, the more the merrier!
The store is in a pretty peculiar shape – triangular right smack in the middle of rows of fashion outlets – and it glows in such a warm orange that you can’t help but to gravitate towards. There’s this sense of adventure and discovery as we feasted our eyes on the classic handmade French confections. We know of macarons and creme brûlée, but not so much of French biscuits.
We were ushered to try the biscuits on display; because what came next was a complete pleasant surprise. I was then told that I can fill whatever I want in one of their vintage designed tins – as long as it fits!
Check out their beautiful tins that are specially designed and made to house the decadent treats. They are free when filled with any 900g of cookies!
Passed the task of selecting the cookies to Ben because he’s the one who has a sweeter tooth than any of us. He was pretty serious about picking them. Haha
Besides biscuits, La Cure Gourmande also serves up a dazzling collection of sweets, chocolates, nougats and soft caramels. These little pop of candies are called Choupettes – traditional lollipops from the South of France, Choupettes are naturally coloured and flavoured with fruits or famous candies.
Christmas treats? Look no further.
The soft caramels that I was talking about. They are naturally flavoured or enlivened with an assortment of nuts and candied fruit.
Then another surprise came when we were presented with one bag full of an assortment of biscuits each to bring home! Certainly wasn’t expecting that, but thank you La Cure Gourmande for your generosity!!
Here with Samantha, who was an excellent host – thank you! Thoroughly enjoyed my time at this magical and splendorous confectionary; we were amazed by the range of French confections, each so thoughtfully dolled up in unique and colourful packagings. If you’re looking to bring home a piece of France, or to gift it to someone special, this is the place to go.
Here’s the address! And for more information, do visit their website and Facebook.
