Every year, I get really excited over this particular invite – one that has the ability to pleasure my senses and have the event procedure replaying over and over in my mind – to Z Wedding’s couture runway show! I attend each year’s show with an anticipation that can send my schedule into chaos, with me spending too much time mulling over what to wear, who to invite as my guest etc… I have to admit, this event is extremely coveted to me on 2 levels:
1) The gowns are insanely beautiful and I get high on sartorial splendour. Yes, it’s true. I’m not just saying because this is a fashion show, but I really eye-devour the intricacies of the gowns, and Z Wedding’s workmanship and designs really are made to impress.
2) Appearances of local celebs (and even international ones, like Bianca Bai who attended in 2014)! This year’s star-studded event included Fann Wong, Chris Tong Bing Yu, David Gan, Dr. Georgia Lee, and celebrity stylist Martin Wong, with more media personalities and social media influencers like Xiaxue, Tricia Ong, Lian Meiting, and Shine Koh, all mostly dressed in lovely Z Wedding gown pieces.
Enjoyed the lovely company of Elizabeth, who was newly crowned Miss Earth Singapore (Air-2015) in October. A girls’ night out without our other halves! I really enjoy events like these.
The Z Wedding x CHIJMES gown collection
That’s where the creatives and designers at Z Wedding are truly amazing, to have come up with gorgeous wedding gowns inspired by the architectural details of the Gothic chapel. CHIJMES has had a deep history and I do consider myself to have some sort of bond to the building being an ex-CHIJgirl :D, which made it ultra meaningful to actually spot boning on bodices and skirts that resemble the high arched cathedral walls and ceilings. Besides incorporating structural ingenuity into the gowns, the team also infused a whole lot of romantic elements like floral petals, layers of soft tulle and bridal lace.
My favourite piece of the night – this midnight blue crystal-encrusted tulle gown. Its tank top-esque lace bodice is a little unconventional, but I think it’ll be great for brides looking for a simple yet gorgeous silhouette. I could almost hear the audience gasp in delight at the mesmerizing sparkling crystals the moment this dress came out. It was so so beautiful.
Check out what the guests have to say about the event!
Thank you Z Wedding for the invite :) Congratulations Joey Ling, Chris Ling and team on yet another successful event.
