[Review] Relaxing Guasha Facial for better skin

Hi ladies,

I’m sure you have heard of Guasha. It is a traditional Chinese medical treatment said to improve blood circulation and to help with chronic pain, and is usually done on the back. But have you heard of Guasha facial? :)

Honestly, I haven’t heard of it until I found out that The Best Beauty Centre provides it.

The Best Beauty Centre has several outlets in Singapore, and I visited the Toa Payoh Hub outlet. Upon reaching, I was ushered to change into slippers and a tube robe.

Before the facial

I had slight makeup on so my therapist proceeded to remove my makeup, do a salt scrub, and cleansing for me.

After cleansing, she helped to tidy up my brows.

Then it was a 10mins long relaxing facial massage.

Finally, the long-awaited guasha on my face!

Contrary to guasha done on the back, the guasha massage done on the face is light and not painful at all. The therapist uses a flat and smooth comb-like bone to push along my cheeks, up to my temples, then all the way down to my collar bone. Apparently, the comb moves and presses along facial acupuncture points that aids in blood circulation and metabolism.

Here’s my before and after. I love how the guasha massage helped with my dark eye rings! I also felt more refreshed and less tension in my facial muscles, neck, and shoulders.

Eye bags are considered cute, but I certainly can’t say the same for panda eyes. I’ve always been conscious of my dark eye rings. They make me look old and tired, but I’m really glad that there is a non-invasive solution for that.

Thank you Alethea and The Best Beauty Centre for the pampering experience, and many thanks to my therapist for the professional guasha massage! I have felt first hand the benefits of a guasha facial and will recommend it to friends.

As we grow older, our metabolism rate decreases and our skin gets duller and duller. And somehow serums and creams don’t seem to work that effectively anymore. For me, every beautician I have seen has advised me to put on a facial mask at least twice a week because my skin is so dry! I believe the guasha massage will help to improve overall skin radiance and glow in the long run.

Here’s how you can try it too!

How to get to The Best Beauty Centre Toa Payoh Hub

It took me awhile to find the outlet, but I hope you’ll be able to locate it with the help of these photos I’ve taken! I mistook the place to be Toa Payoh HDB hub, but no it is not there.

Walk out of the MRT/ bus interchange. You’ll see a watch shop on your left, and Breadtalk, Burger King on your right.

Keep left and turn into the lift lobby before the POSB atms/NTUC Fairprice. Take the lift to level 4, and The Best Beauty Centre is right at the end.
