Capri by Fraser Johor Bahru (Part 1) – Room Tour and Review

Some time in April, we did a 3D2N stay in Capri by Fraser Johor Bahru just to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It was a rest much needed. As life gets overwhelming, it is important to take a step back, care for yourself, and refill your cup. It is the only way to keep going.. so we were extremely grateful for the tiny trip!

I was searching for accommodation with Booking.com (get 10% of your trip back when you book via my referral link!) and came across Capri by Fraser Johor Bahru Hotel. It is a 4-star hotel but comes at a reasonable price with free breakfast, because they were having a soft launch! In fact, we learned that they had opened in February, just two months prior to our visit.

Getting there:

The hotel is located just beside JB CIQ. We drove, so it was easy to get there. If you’re not driving, there is also shuttle bus from City Square and Komtar. Or, you can grab! :)

A note on the parking at Capri though: finding the carpark designated for hotel guests can get quite confusing as they are sharing carpark with Tri-Towers, a condo. But it is rather safe as there are security guards at both areas. Be patient as you navigate around the carpark. Do park only at the RED lots reserved for hotel guests.

Pretty decor

There is an area where you can use the iMacs to access the internet. Receptionist was very kind and gave us a room on the highest level that they had available at that time. He even showed us to our room.

Capri by Fraser JB Room Tour

We booked a Studio Deluxe King room and it was exactly like in the pictures. Spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. We loved how the sun shone in through the windows and curtains and bathed the room in warm sunshine.

Wardrobe with ironing board

The open-concept wardrobe comes with an iron and ironing board – very useful for getting rid of crumples in shirts and dresses for important date nights.

Kitchenette/ Pantry area

I adored this pantry area that is fitted with a sink and microwave. Some plates and cutlery are also provided for dining in-room. It makes the place feel like home.

Sofa by the bed

The room was really spacious, and there was a sofa by the bed. Great for chilling when you have just arrived and don’t want to sit on the bed with your ‘outside clothes’. Haha.

Room toilet

Toilet was more than what we asked for. Clean and well-furnished with things that you need – like the hair-dryer – or might not need, like a weighing scale?

Shower area with rain shower!

But what we loved the most was the rain shower. We don’t use bath tubs so the rain shower was a real treat. The feeling of the water droplets pelting onto your back and body simply soothes the aches away. I miss it already.

Toiletries provided

We indulged in the Malin+Goetz shampoo and shower foams provided. The smell of bergamot and peppermint really refreshes our senses.

Dinner

We took a Grab to City Square and pondered over dinner plans. We finally settled on Tom Yum Oden from Family Mart. It was very salty, but delicious. Haha. We also bought a bunch of cakes and snacks from Family Mart and went back to the hotel to eat. It feels calming to eat back in the hotel room, and to be away from crowds and eatery smells.

Room View

Oh how can I forget.. here’s a last photo for this post. We pulled open the curtains and this beautiful view greeted us. It was a different scene from the tall, crowded buildings that we are so used to. I appreciate this view very much.

View from our room

I didn’t regret choosing to stay at Capri by Fraser Johor Bahru. It was luxurious, comfortable, and clean. The place took our weariness away and allowed us to recharge fully.

In my next post, I will be sharing about the hotel’s breakfast, and where we went for our JB trip. Thank you for reading. Hope you’ll enjoy your stay too if you ever stay here! :)
