Valentines part 1.
Hammy and I met up in the afternoon after school and I had not eaten anything the whole day. We went back and he whipped up Japanese Curry Pasta for both of us :)
Creative and simple version cuz he just added in crabstick and cheese tofu and onions. But tastes a punch!
Then after eating, we rushed to catch Black Swan at the theatre. I had been badgering him for a few weeks to watch Black Swan with me as I heard really good ratings from family and friends.
I knew it was a psychological thriller, but I guess I didn’t quite understand the full meaning of that term. Because I was totally spooked and disturbed after the show! Don’t get me wrong, Black Swan was beautiful, and Natalie Portman gave a fabulous performance, but the story was so dark. So eerily warped that it plays with your mind, leaving you unsure of what is real and what is not. The human mind creates an alternate ‘reality’ in order for us to cope with extreme pressure, such that you’re stuck in a limbo, and driven by your own dark desires and half realities.
I shouldn’t say more, I would recommend it to those who would love an escape, but not to those faint-hearted. I loved it, but I was also frightened.
After the movie, Hammy kept nagging and reminding me that I was the one who wanted to watch the show, and now we are both weak in the knees and ‘psychologically disturbed’. But what I didn’t tell him was, I would watch it if given the chance again! :P
OK valentine’s part 2.
Without Hammy’s knowledge, I secretly bought a wallet for him from Braun Buffel while he was at school a few days back. It can be considered my first big present as he doesn’t allow me to buy presents for him! Cuz he doesn’t want me to waste money. I figured that he really needed a new wallet as his current one had already torn. But Hammy surprised me by sewing the edges back and continued to use it. So all along he’s been using a mended wallet.
Well, the wallet has sentimental value. It was given to him by his best friend a few years back, but sadly they are not friends anymore due to some stupid misunderstanding.
When I gave Hammy the present, he said, “How? Which one should I use? Both are important to me. If I stop using this old one, it will become useless.”
So I said, “It’s alright if you don’t use the new one now, you can use it when you start working.” So that’s the plan for now. Keep the new wallet in crisp condition, then use the old wallet until it disintegrates.
I wasn’t trying to replace the old wallet, because I know how much it means to him, but I just thought he needed something newer when he goes to work.
I wrote him a card too. It’s a special craft card which pops up a papercut 3D japanese palace tower!
Isn’t that beautiful? :)
Ended the day with a strawberry cheesecake he had bought for me.
We had a quiet and simple valentines’ day. Just the way we wanted it to be.
