Two weeks ago I had the chance to attend SILKYGIRL’s Make Up Workshop hosted by Audrey Quek, an ex-Miss Singapore and now an Image and Beauty Consultant. I really learned A LOT from the workshop as she bared no qualms on sharing beauty tips and taught us how to create a ‘Perfectly Me’ look using SILKYGIRL products :)
She’s certainly inspirational by being a living example, as you can’t tell that she is already a mother to a six-year-old child, can you?? O.o I bet everyone in the classroom was wishing that they would be able to maintain their youthful looks like her.
As usual when attending make up workshops, I went without any make up except for sunblock on my face. I don’t want to spend time removing my make up at the workshop. Haha, though it’s also perfectly fine to go with your make-up as they usually provide make up removers at workshops.
The box of make up products sitting on every table for us to explore. Although not very extensive, SILKYGIRL has a complete range of cosmetics, everything you need from eyebrows to lips. At the moment, I’m using a couple of SILKYGIRL products as well on a daily basis, such as the Hi-Definition Brow Liner and Shimmer Duo Blusher. The Hi-Definition Brow Liner is the best I’ve used as it is available in Soft Black, matching my black hair to perfection.
Alright! Let’s start on the make up, First step is applying primer. This is a pretty important step as not only does primer act as a barrier between your skin and cosmetics, it also provides a smoother surface for make up to glide on, and last longer. SILKYGIRL’s primer also has two other functions – brighten and reduce appearance of pores (not in this picture)!
The SILKYGIRL primer can also be applied on the eyelids, to enhance the colours of eyeshadows.
Next, I tried on the Magic BB White Cream in 02 Radiant. We were given a choice of whether to apply Magic BB White Foundation or BB Cream, and I chose the latter.
There were other things that went onto my face, such as the Perfect Cover Concealor in Light, and Shine-free Loose Powder in 01 Natural Light.
SILKYGIRL’s Double Intense Duo Eyeshadow range and palettes. Guess which palette did I choose? ;) I chose something different from what I would wear: Yellow!
EYE Make Up: Using the Yellow BlockBuster Colour Palette, I created a yellow/golden look on my lids.
– I drew my upper lash line using SILKYGIRL Precision Sharp Eyeliner Pen in Blackest Black. Filled it in with SILKYGIRL Perfect Stay 20hr Eyeliner.
– Curled eyelashes, and topped them off with SILKYGIRL Big Eye Waterproof Collagen Mascara.
And finally, I applied blusher and lip gloss to complete the look.
Moisture Gloss Lip Gloss colour swatch. I chose the 3rd shade.
Yeps, this is my final look. I think yellow is a colour that brings a pop to your eyes, and it is like a mini surprise as it is uncommon. The bright yellow when worn on the beige of my skin gave it a golden glow; an effect that I like. On the other hand, it is also subtle when viewed from afar and not overly dramatic, and can be worn on casual days out.

I really enjoyed my time at the workshop, and it far exceeded my expectations, with the uninhibited sharing of tips and personal experiences, goody bags, and make-up fun. Plus new friends found made my Saturday well-spent.
Psst, here’s what I got from the goody bag! :)
Loads of goodies, and I won the Ice Cream Lip Pot just by answering a simple question at the workshop. =) I was impressed by the Big Eye Waterproof Collagen Mascara from the workshop and I was happy to find out that they included one in our goody bags. I’ve already started using the Eye and Lip Makeup Remover.
Looking forward to purchase more SILKGIRL products as they gave us discount vouchers as well!
