Yesterday I attended Singapore Blog Awards 2013 Ceremony at Shanghai Dolly as a finalist! Never thought my blog would actually gained enough recognition to be considered as a finalist in 2 categories from over 1500 blogs. It was all too surreal to me.
The theme was “1960’s Fever” and I tried to find something that was MOST retro in my wardrobe. It’s this LBD with pearls and very cute flared hem. I bought it about 6 years ago from a random shop in Far East Plaza. And to complete the look, I curled my hair with the Panasonic Multi-Styling Straightener :)
I guess I played it too safe cuz the moment we reached Shanghai Dolly, we saw many bloggers dressed to the nines according to theme, with beehive hairdos, sequinned dresses etc! AND SO COLOURFUL.
Mr. Lawrence Wong, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth with all the Main Category winners! I’m so so proud of Jaslin from J U S T J A S L I N who won Best Fashion Blog! She told me that it was her first time taking part in SBA and there there, she won an award! Such an inspiration! :D
Claire from Claire’s Flair! Congrats!! She won Best Levi’s 501 Interpretation Blog! Claire was my schoolmate back in CHIJ TP and I’m so glad to meet her again in the blogosphere!

It’s my first time taking part in Singapore Blog Awards 2013 and perhaps I may get lucky again next year? :) This year I was a little shy (actually a lot) to approach the cheering crowd as I was new to everything, and to just butt in (I feel) would be kinda weird. If I get another chance, I will do my best to make more friends! :) Watching them cheer so happily for their blogger friends on stage reminded me of the times when I had my own bunch of crazy friends in NTU. Miss them so much.
I’m more than grateful for Mypeaceofheaven to have gotten into the competition in the first place, and I just wanted to do my best. I’d been reading the other finalists’ blogs for some time (for goodness’ sake), their standard is really up-there and it’s an honour to be place next to them. Thank you family and friends for voting for me during this period, I know how troublesome it is to create an account and must log in everytime etc etc.. Hopefully they can improve the voting system. Thank you Hammy, who supported me to the best of your abilities. Thank you Omy Team. Thank you sponsors, Panasonic and Levi’s. :)
Til’ next year, SBA!
