Maybelline Lashionista Mascara
I took super long to post about this mascara largely because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do the review, even though I had the photos sitting in my phone for quite a while. You see, I have been using the Lashionista after I finished my Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto mascara, which I kinda regretted buying (the Lashionista) for $21.90 because there are many areas which the Lashionista is lacking in, amplified due to the Stiletto being such a good mascara. Oops.
The brush is slightly curved, and the mascara contained little fibres that help to lengthen your lashes. Compared to the Stiletto, the fibres from the Lashionista are longer and thicker.
Let’s see what I like about the Lashionista.
1) Endless lengthening of the lashes. This I find quite true, as I can go as long as I want (although I’ve never worn it out), but there is a problem. It doesn’t apply evenly, so only some of my lashes are longer & thicker than the others. Haha and I realise that if I go too long, the lashes look very flimsy and brittle, it’ll look something like this…
Okay that’s about it. :S which is really bad cuz even the good point comes with problems…
What I don’t like about the Lashionista
1) It doesn’t hold curl. This is my #1 requirement from any mascara and if it doesn’t fulfill this, I’m sorry you’re out. Curl is so important to me, it is the curl of the lashes that brings out wide doe eyes and flirty blinks.
2) Flawless, no clumps? I find this untrue, because some fibres stick together. Plus, when the fibres are so long and thick, the result of them sticking together creates really obvious unevenness.
3) It is not exactly 24-hour smudge proof. I don’t know if you count the fibres falling onto your face as smudging, but to me it just means the same thing. Imagine my horror when Hammy tells me I’ve got mascara on my nose. Hahaha. It’s even worse when I’d already spent the whole day outside, walking with mascara fibres on my face. Lol.
So yeah, I think there are better better options out there. I can’t wait till I get a new mascara, but I really don’t want to waste the money I spent on the Lashionista, so I’ll have to finish it first…
