Hammy’s friend, Gerwyn, brought us to this Nahkon Kitchen in Hougang for dinner one night. It was situated in the heart of HDBs and neighbourhood shops. We reached about 7:30pm, and I was surprised at the number of people queueing up! They had formed a queue along the corridor of the shops, although not hindering human traffic as the shop next door was closed.
How can anyone not order Tom Yum soup from an authentic Thai restaurant? I had the clear Thai tomyum soup, but I thought it was too spicy! There were alot of ingredients though, seafood, mushrooms and vermicelli.
G ordered their Pineapple fried rice. I didn’t try it though!
Another thing that you can’t miss, Thai Iced Tea! Give me this over soft drinks anytime!
Sotong with egg gravy. This wasn’t fantastic. We had wanted to order fried sotong initally, but some mis-communication resulted in this. :(
Deep fried garlic chicken. I thought it was abit too hard.
The main dishes were not as nice as I thought they would be, considering the amount of people queueing up to have dinner. But dessert saved the day! This Mango glutinous rice was awesome! Very authentic, and sweet. I love this, and would go back for it.
I definitely would want to try their other dishes, such as kangkong, basil fried chicken, green curry, chicken wrapped in pandan leaves, phad thai.
